Snow is flying, West Virginia. I know, I know...last week it was 62 degrees out. Lucky for you, snow is in the forecast and we are ready to shred that powder. If you are from West Virginia, you know we have some amazing ski resorts. If you aren't from West Virginia, they don't call us the "Mountain State" for nothing. Keep reading as we tell you about our favorite winter destinations.
Winterplace is the perfect place to spend winter in West Virginia. This location is definitely a hotspot for locals and adrenaline junkies. Currently, there are fifteen 15 of 27 trails open to the winter sports. With another month and a half of winter to go there is much more snow on the horizon. This is a great location for college students, the resort has Collegiate Thursday every week. One of WV's biggest and best resorts, Snowshoe is famous. This resort is popular for much more than snow, the resort has an amazing restaurant and ice skating available to the public. Activities at Shoeshoe are fun for the whole family! The resort hosts concerts, children's snowboarding camps, and even winter themed festivals, such as Subaru Fest.
Canaan Valley is one of the most unique destinations in West Virginia. In addition to winter sports, you can tube, cross-country ski or even ice skate here. Canaan Valley is one of the best places to take your family for a winter vacation or a ski weekend. This location is a must visit on your West Virginia ski list!
